Fellow SPPG Alumni,
It is with great humility and a deep sense of purpose, that I offer myself as a vehicle for selfless and result-oriented servant leadership to our dear association.
Reflecting on my time at The School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG), I am reminded of the transformational experience, lifelong friendships, invaluable lessons, and expositions that shaped me into who I am today.
The impactful ‘roars’ of VC Alero Ayida-Otobo, the stellar lectures of Dr. Oby Ezekwesili and faculty, the coordination of our phenomenal dean of the pioneer class, Dr. Amina Salihu, the unique SOL-DIS and capstone projects, the heated exchanges during classes, and the burning desire to see Nigeria and Africa succeed, as illuminated in Timi Dakolo’s ‘Great Nation,’ are lifelong memories.
I am certain that each of us gained quality education, knowledge, relationships, enthusiasm, and an uncommon drive to rescue our nation and continent from impending doom during our time at the school. Receiving this rare empowerment, however, places the responsibility on us to put our knowledge into practice and be the leaders Africa needs. If SPPG was the dream, SPPGAA is where we live it.Having served in various capacities and proudly represented our association in different forums, I am convinced that I can take our association to the next level.
It is time for progressive change. It is time to reposition our association to be proactive rather than reactive and to reflect character, competence, and capacity. The time is right for SPPGAA to influence politics, policies, and governance and to promote good governance practices in Nigeria and across Africa.Dear colleagues, I am contesting for SPPGAA President because I understand where we are coming from, I have a clear picture of where we should be headed and I am committed to helping us get there with your support. My ambition is to build a dynamic, supportive, and inspiring alumni community that enriches our lives, adds value to our society, and strengthens the reputation of SPPG.
I am eager to serve, to work with you to ensure that we take on Local Council, State, National, and Continental leadership and put into practice, what we learned at SPPG as the ‘Disruptive Political Class’. This is the dream
Let us live this dream together.Yours in service,
Daberechi Kingsley Ekejiuba
