This organization was birthed out of the low percentage of persons living with disability running for elective positions in the last general elections; 2019 elections in Nigeria.
However, DPLI is centered towards the actualization of equality and equity, gearing and preparing persons with Disability with the necessary leadership skill set to assist them run for political positions as well as adjudicate necessary policies in collaboration with necessary state actors and government agencies towards making suitable policies for persons with disability(ies) ensuring equality and a fair level playing ground towards attaining leadership
